☆Background Ideas☆


For the Background of our Game I had the idea that the final piece should include;
A dark Red brick wall that is drawn with a flat edge brush like shown below.
The walls should also have Pipes and Metal platforms or other objects to make the place look more like a factory.
And around the Level itself (like shown in picture #2) we were thinking of  adding some sort of frame that will most likely be decorated with cogs to make the UI clear for the player.

☆ Character Statue Update ☆


Big Step forward for my character.
She Got finally finished arms, Hands and Head and her flower opening on the Waist down is looking better.
I added a few Elements around her which are later on going to be replaced with floating lights in unity.
The cloth at the bottom is most likely going to be remodelled in a different shape to make the silhouette of the statue more clear for the viewer.


☆ 2 Week Assignment; Steampunk☆


For this Assignment we need to focus on the following questions:

1. What exactly is Steam punk?


Steam punk is a sub genre of science fiction that focuses on technology inspired by 19 Th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.
However Steam punk doesn't just limit itself to a certain time period or art style and so came up with other sub genres such as steam punk romance, steam punk erotica, and steam punk young adult fiction.
Steam punk also takes a lot of inspiration on the Victorian optimistic view of the future.

2. Which Elements can we use for a Steam punk themed Design?


Steam punk fully focuses around ideas and technology without going in a direction that is too futuristic. 

Classic Elements used are Objects such as; Cogs, Goggles, Clocks, high boots, top hats, pipes and anything robotic.

While doing so Steam punk elements like shown in the Mood board above are using materials/colours like Copper, Bronze, Gold and Used Metal.
Colours that nicely work with Steam punk to gain a good contrast are Green, Orange and pretty much any shade of Red.


I was pretty determined to have a pilot as a character or maybe do a small robot but while I started spending more Time sketching and coming up with ideas I ended up with something different. 

I started off doing a few concepts of hairstyles and characters and later on researched Steam punk clothing websites such as

to gain a better feeling for cloths my character could wear.











 My final Idea that I worked on was this character (you can also see her in the previous sketches).

Another of the concepts I started making was a Steam punk themed Wheelchair that would be able 
to speed the lady that sits inside it up.

It also gave me the idea of maybe making a Robot for a character that then would be able to fly. 
I might use This idea for one of my later Projects.

For this classwork we were given basic lines of the creature shown below and then got to first of all paint it in grey scale and then apply textures over it.
I decided to go for very glossy and cold textures.

☆ Bianca finished character design ☆


After working over Biancas Outfit further I finished a second sprite as shown below facing left and another facing the right hand side.

The design ended up being too detailed and will later on have to be redrawn and simplified for the in game.

I was quite happy with the choice of colour for this sprite and will keep it for the final one.

☆Bianca Sketches and working on the Design☆


Simple sketches and ideas to optimize Biancas design to make it more fitting for in game.

Biancas first design as previously shown was very square heavy and more difficult to animate.
Also the colours on her cloths were not fitting and the sprite just turned out to look unbalanced - I therefore decided to go over her design and to make her more interesting.

First four pictures; work on Biancas trousers/skirt, shoes, hairstyle and animation roughs to find a better feeling for her movements in game.
